(Clayton Co) One person was killed and three others were injured in a crash Monday evening in Clayton County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened when 62-year-old Ricky Thurn of Edgewood was standing at the driver’s door of a UTV parked northbound on Glacier Road. A southbound 2021 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by 56-year-old Perry Peterson of Manchester, struck Thurn.
Thurn died from his injuries. Peterson was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by Gunderson Air.
Two passengers in another UTV, also parked northbound on Glacier Road, were injured. James Bunting, 69, and Lori Bunting, 63, both of Edgewood, were transported to MercyOne Elkader by the Elkader Ambulance Service.
The Iowa State Patrol says the crash remains under investigation.
