(Corning, IA) — Southwest Valley girls tennis is inexperienced coming into the new season and it has showed as the Timberwolves have not won a match so far against Audubon, Shenandoah and Creston. Southwest lost their top player from the spring in Maddie Bevington. Junior Deklyn Mullen has moved up to the top spot — she did not finish the spring because of an injury but Head Coach McKayla Vanderhoof has seen improvements out of her
With girls tennis moving to the fall, the Timberwolves got three seniors to come for the sport this year — Sidney Crill, Hailey Randall and Nora Barnes but Vanderhoof says they all have not played varsity tennis before
Junior Fiona McDaniel and Junior Adelynn Cripps rounds out the six singles spots. Vanderhoof has not settled 100 percent on doubles partners and for the season she is looking for everybody to do their best and have fun and not worry about wins and losses
