(Atlantic) Those curious about running for public office will have the chance to hear directly from local leaders during a panel discussion Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. in the downstairs meeting room of the Atlantic Public Library.
The event will feature Atlantic School Board member Gini Jordan, Atlantic Mayor Grace Garrett, Atlantic City Council member Mike McDermott, and Iowa Western Community College trustee Chris Blake. Panelists will share their experiences, explain the responsibilities of their positions, and answer audience questions.
Hosted by the Cass County Democrats, this is the third session in a series aimed at providing a realistic look at what it’s like to serve as an elected official.
