(Atlantic, IA) — It’s been almost eight years since Gratt Reed of Atlantic Track and Field began to make big waves in the state with a jaw-dropping time of 14.31 seconds in the 3A 110m High Hurdle event at the Blue Oval, securing his spot as the 2018 champion of the event and putting his name in the books as the 29th fastest time in the history of the state as of 2025. Fast forward to present time, Reed is a six-time All-American, B1G Ten Medal of Honor winner, and holds several school records. But where did it all start?
