(Boone Co) One person was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Boone County Saturday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says 55-year-old Bobby John Rodriguez, of Waukee, was driving a 2025 Honda SxS northbound on I Avenue. 74-year-old Wayne Melvin Reinhart, of Alleman, was driving a 2024 Chevy Silverado eastbound on 280th Street. Both vehicles entered the uncontrolled intersection at the same time due to tall corn blocking their view. The vehicles collided and both ended up in a bean field on the northwest corner of the intersection.
Bobby John Rodriguez was killed in the accident. 40-year-old Rebecca Susan Rodriguez, of Waukee, and 9-year-old Noah Rodriguez, of Waukee, were both transported to Methodist Hospital by Life Flight.
