(Des Moines) State Treasurer Roby Smith encourages Iowa State fairgoers to explore two booths that could put money in your pocket or help a child in your life. Go to the Varied Industries building, search your name to see if you’re among the one in seven Iowans with unclaimed property in the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt.
Plus, enter a child in your life for a chance to win $1,000 for their education at the ISave 529 booth! “Whether you’re looking for lost property or want a chance to win $1,000 for a child’s education, visiting these booths is worthwhile,” said Treasurer Smith. “Don’t miss the chance to celebrate Iowa’s youth and agriculture at the iconic Iowa State Fair!” Kids can join the fun too!
At the ISave 529 booth, they can participate in a survey about their dream careers and favorite fair foods.
Over 587,000 individuals and businesses have unclaimed funds through the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt. Treasurer Smith encourages everyone to check for unclaimed property at GreatIowaTreasureHunt.gov. ISave 529 is a tax-advantaged savings plan for future educational expenses. To open an ISave 529 account, visit ISave529.com.
