(Des Moines) A line of storms swept through western Iowa early this morning, prompting warnings of high winds and torrential rain in Harrison, Pottawattamie, Mills, Fremont, Cass, Carroll, Crawford, Adair, Audubon, Shelby, and Guthrie Counties.
The National Weather Service reports 60-mile-per-hour wind gusts near Bayard and a 70-mile-per-hour wind gust three miles east of Westphalia,
The weather forecast looks much calmer and cooler for the balance of the week with highs of 77 today, 75 on Thursday, 74 on Friday, 74 on Saturday, and 76 on Sunday.
