(Creston) A Creston man suffered injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Union County.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at around 4:50 p.m. on Cherry Street Road. Authorities identified the injured man as Jack Farlow, of Creston. Farlow was a passenger in the pickup driven by 54-year-old Fred Eugene DeLong of Creston.
According to the report, DeLong was driving a northbound 2020 Ford F150 pickup pulling a trailer. He told investigators he attempted to pass a vehicle, and lost control when the trailer tires veered off the pavement, causing the trailer to cross over onto the gravel shoulder on the opposite side of the highway. The trailer fishtailed, causing the pickup to cross back over to the correct side of the pavement, overturned, slide down an embankment, and rolled over.
Farlow complained of neck pain, and EMS transported him to Greater Regional Medical Center in Creston.
The pickup and trailer received an estimated $80,000 in damage.
