(Atlantic) – Haidyn Suhr of the Grant Guys and Gals 4-H Club claimed top honors at the Grand Champion Beef Selection Show on Monday night at the Cass County Fair, emerging from a competitive field of Market Steers and Heifers. Suhr’s 1,450-pound steer, “Clark,” posted a daily rate of gain of 2.58 pounds and earned the title of Overall Supreme Market Animal, 4-H and FFA Combined. The victory marks Suhr’s second career appearance at the prestigious “Best of the West” event.
Raylea Amos of the Griswold Clubsters exhibited the Reserve Supreme Market Animal.
Logan Tibken, of the Grant Guys and Gals 4H Club, won the Supreme Overall Breeding Heifer (4H and FFA combined). Tibken says his Chianina breeding heifer came from Rich Nichols, and Tibken has been working with this calf for about a year now.
Kyser Will, who showed in the same class on the same day, finished as the runner-up.
