(Griswold, IA) — When CAM and Griswold both struggled to come up with enough players to create softball teams for the 2025 season, the collaboration of both teams came into effect. Coached by Jody Rossell, the team won 25 and lost six. Despite the team’s new-founded partnership, it’s difficult to find a fault in their game; the team had a very strong pitching staff in Ailey Wahlert and Sadie Gohlinghurst, who both combined for an ERA of 2.47. The Tigers had a dangerous offense as well, with Wahlert and Courtney Follmann both hitting five home runs. Senior Marissa Askeland lead the team in hits with 36 and batting average with .424, and also had home run power knocking two over the fence during the season. Rossell was happy with the team’s season, and says they had looked like they were playing together for years:
The Tigers graduate four seniors in Joanna Reynolds, Addison Adams, Abby Gohlinghurst, and Marissa Askeland, and Rossell is looking forward to seeing younger players get more time on the field:
The Griswold-CAM Tigers made it to the regional semi-finals where they lost to West Monona 6-0. Rossell says that the team needs to be patient at the plate and focus on the process if they want to have more success next season:
