UPDATE: Quach surrendered to law enforcement authorities in Iowa on July 29
(Council Bluffs) Authorities are searching for a woman wanted in connection to a serious crash that left a Council Bluffs man severely injured earlier this year.
According to the Council Bluffs Police Department, the two-vehicle collision occurred on March 30, 2025, at approximately 11:08 a.m. at the intersection of North 16th Street and Avenue G. A 2016 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by 71-year-old Jeffrey Sperry of Council Bluffs, was traveling eastbound on Avenue G when it was struck by a southbound 2025 Honda CRV.
Investigators say the CRV, driven by 42-year-old Shayla Quach of Omaha, Nebraska, was traveling over 80 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone and ran a red light at the intersection, causing the crash.
Both drivers were transported to a nearby trauma center for their injuries. Sperry sustained multiple serious injuries.
Following the investigation, police issued an arrest warrant for Quach on a charge of Serious Injury by Vehicle–Reckless Driving. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Anyone with information on Shayla Quach’s location is urged to contact their local police department.
