Underwood is the defending champion in 2A but Pleasantville and Van Meter have made their cases as well with strong seasons. The Cougars have played tough competition like state tournament teams Mediapolis, East Buchanan and traditional powers North Linn, Mount Vernon, Beckman Catholic and beat Grundy Center in the substate finals.
