(Grant City) A Union County man suffered minor injuries in a motorcycle vs animal accident one mile north of Grant City, Missouri.
The Missouri State Patrol says the accident happened at around 7:50 a.m. on Saturday on southbound U.S. Highway 169. Authorities identified the operator as a 59-year-old male from Creston, Iowa. The State Patrol did not release his name.
According to the report, the man driving a southbound 2008 Yamaha motorcycle, skidded in an attempt to avoid an animal entering the roadway. The Yamaha struck the animal, crossed the centerline, and overturned off the eastside of the highway. Medics treated the man at the scene and released him.
The motorcycle sustained extensive damage. A private vehicle towed the damaged Yamaha from the accident scene.
The Worth County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Patrol (CPL. B.E. Maudlin, (597), assisted with the investigation.
