(Lewis) The Iowa State Park Passport is back in 2025, featuring more than 60 state parks. John Lorenzen, Fisheries Biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, says download the State Passport app onto your phone and follow the setup directions through October 31. He says passport holders can earn points by checking into dozens of state parks using the app. Each park has a different point value, and as you accumulate points, you can redeem them for various prizes.
Lorenzen says 500 points will get you $5.00 off an overnight camping stay. One thousand points may get you a sticker, and 2,500 points may get you a state park t-shirt. Additionally, each park check-in counts as an automatic entry into the sweepstakes drawing for a three-night stay at a cabin in Springbrook State Park.
