(Glenwood) Two people died in a school bus/SUV accident in Mills County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at around 4:20 on Friday afternoon on Highway 34 and 195th Street. Authorities say 62-year-old Ralph Edward Schultz, and 66-year-old Perla Manalastas Schultz of EWA Beach, Hawaii died in the crash. Four people in the bus carrying the St. Albert Softball team were reported injured in the crash, including the driver, 63-year-old Jeanette Marie Henderson of Council Bluffs. The ISP says three female juveniles were transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Two went to Jennie ED, and one juvenile was transported to CHI.
According to the report, for unknown reasons a 2024 Tiguan VW driven by Schultz on 195th Street entered Highway 34 from the stop sign and was struck by the school bus traveling east on Highway 34. Ralph Schultz, and Perla Manalastas Schultz suffered fatal injuries. They were both transported to Peterson Mortuary in Council Bluffs.
The bus driver, and three juveniles suffered suspected minor injuries.
