(Exira) The Exira City Council has agreed to move forward with a professional engineering report from Snyder and Associates, in collaboration with the City of Brayton, pending approval from the Brayton City Council.
Exira City Clerk Megan Andersen says the report is necessary to evaluate the city’s water supply options. It will explore whether Exira should connect to another existing utility, develop its own water treatment plant and wellfield, partner with Brayton on a shared solution, or continue using its current regional water provider.
The Exira City Council has voted to move forward with the engineering report. The Brayton City Council is scheduled to review the proposal during its meeting on June 10. If Brayton agrees to the terms outlined by Exira, both communities will proceed with the professional engineering report and begin exploring alternative water supply options and the most viable path forward.
