(Davis County) One person suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Davis County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 3:39 p.m. east of Bunch Road and Ebony Avenue. Authorities say UIHC Aircare transported 75-year-old Kenneth Johnson of Drakesville, Iowa, to UIHC for treatment of what is described as life-threatening injuries.
The report says Johnson was driving a 2022 Hyundai Accent eastbound on Bunch Road east of Ebony Avenue, crossed over the centerline, and into the path of a westbound 2012 Ford F350 pickup pulling a trailer. The pickup driver, 18-year-old Wyatt Sandeen, of Blakesburg, Iowa, attempted to avoid the collision by swerving to the right. Ultimately, the front end of the car struck the trailer.
The Hyundai came to a stop in the roadway. The Ford pickup and trailer ended up in the north ditch.
