(Avoca, IA) — AHSTW baseball is 1-4 to start the season — they were one of the few teams that got a game in last night but lost at Missouri Valley 6-0. Head Coach Trey Brix says last season, the Vikes had problems getting people on base but this season that has not been a problem, its turning baserunners into runs
Last night Freshman Camdyn Dresen threw 5 innings and allowed 4 runs, only 3 earned on just 4 hits but walked three and hit two batters while striking out 4. He pitched well enough to keep his team in the game but did not get the run support. Offensively, Dresen is leading AHSTW hitting .346 — Brix likes what he sees from Dresen with the bat and needs to tweak some things with him on the mound
AHSTW is in a stretch of four straight games, tonight they visit 2-3 East Mills which has also struggled with the bats but has a team ERA of 3.86. Brix says it comes down to the pitching and defense
After tonight, AHSTW will visit IKM Manning on Thursday and host Treynor on Friday.
