(Allamakee, County) A motorcycle driver died when his motorcycle struck a deer in Allamakee County, Iowa.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened on Saturday at around 8:43 a.m. on northbound Highway 76 near the 42-mile marker. Authorities say 64-year-old Daniel M. Fisher, of Salem, Wisconsin, died in the accident.
According to the report, Fisher was operating a 2007 Harley Davidson north on Highway 76, struck a deer in the roadway, and came to rest in the east ditches, ejecting Fisher. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Assisting agencies included the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office, VMH ambulance, Waukon Fire Department, Allamakee Medical Examiner, and Danny Mac’s Towing Service.
