(Anita, IA) — At the beginning of the season, Sophomore Ada Hansen said one of her goals was for the CAM Girls Track and Field team to win a meet this season. That goal was accomplished this pasts Thursday night when the Cougars won by three points over Fremont Mills. Who cares that both teams ran a limited line up, it was a victory for CAM and Head Coach Luke Symonds
Hansen seems set running in the 100 Hurdles, 400 Hurdles, Shuttle Hurdle Relay and Sprint Medley relay — she is now the favorite to win the Class 1A state title in the 400 Hurdles after Bella Lamp of AHSTW suffered a season ending injury. CAM also has Sophomore Ruthie Rich who Symonds says is peaking at the right time
Another to watch for CAM will be another Sophomore Courtney Follmann who ranks third in her district in the discus. Symonds says she has been steady and even if she does not win on Thursday, she will have a chance at state
CAM will be competing at Madrid on Thursday evening in both boys and girls track and field.
