(Atlantic) Red Oak narrowly defeated Kuemper by a tiebreaker at the Betty Heflin Golf Tournament held Tuesday at Nishna Hills Golf Club in Atlantic. Both teams posted identical scores of 365, but Red Oak claimed the edge based on the fifth-player score. Nellie Blaine’s round of 104 proved decisive in giving the Tigers the win. Brynn Knaus (3rd) led the way with an 80, Adella Lydon, shot, 90, (11), Emily Sebeniecher, (96), and Riley Burke, 99, (26th). For Kuemper, Addy Beiter finished 5th with an 80, Elsa Tiefenthaler, 89, (9th), Ella Pick, 93, (13th), and Giada Lujano, 103 (33rd).
Chloe Perfect of Lewis Central medaled with a 74. Taylor Rasmussen of Clarinda finished runner-up with a 78.
Atlantic finished second overall with a 399. Makenna Schroeder led the Trojans with an 84, (6th), Emma Rose finished (12th) with a 91, Nevaeh Fewson, finished (46th) with a 110, and Tylee Bengel, carded a 113, and finished 50th overall.
