(Atlantic) Hudson McLaren, and Brady Wood delivered their best 18-hole rounds of the season on Tuesday, leading Atlantic to the team title at the Trojan Invitational held at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club.
Both golfers carded impressive one-over-par 70s, claiming the top two individual spots. McLaren earned medalist honors with a 25 foot putt on the first playoff hole for a birdie. Wood parred the hole for runner-up honors.
As a team, Atlantic posted a season-low score of 298. Tristan Hayes, Trevan Hansen and Gage Gross, each shot 79’s, and Sam Brosam finished the day with an 83.
Atlantic Head Coach Kendra Henningsen said the team’s depth was on full display again during Tuesday’s tournament. She noted that each week brings different challenges, with some players having off days while others step up, but it’s always the team-first mentality that makes the difference.
Coach Henningsen pointed out senior Trevan Hansen’s season best score of 79.
The Atlantic Junior Varsity also competed in the tournament, and shot a 372. Braxton Hass led the way with an 89, Aiden Smith, 91, Jack Muller, 72, Brody Erickson, 97, Keaton Schroeder, 103, and Hunter Quist, 105.
