(Atlantic) The May edition of Healthy U will feature Kacey Peterson, MS, LMHC, on Thursday, May 15, at 12:00 p.m. in Conference Room 2. Peterson will lead a presentation titled “Cultivating Healthy Aging,” offering practical tips for older adults on shifting mindsets, refreshing daily routines, boosting mental well-being, and supporting overall healthy aging.
Peterson, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, joined the Cass Health Senior Life Solutions (SLS) team in 2020. She currently serves as a Program Therapist, providing both group and individual therapy. She holds a BS in Psychology (2005) and an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2010), both from Drake University. She is licensed through the Iowa Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Before her work with SLS, Peterson practiced privately, supporting children and families in both school and community settings. She was recognized in 2015 with the Professional Leadership to a State Chapter Award by the American Mental Health Counselors Association, honoring her service as Board President and Legislative Committee Chair for the Iowa Mental Health Counselors Association. She also received a leadership award from Drake University’s School of Education in 2019 and was named Therapist of the Year in 2021 for her dedication to SLS patients.
