(Anita, IA) — Coming close to your dreams and goals and falling just short can be devastating. CAM’s Chase Jahde came oh so close to winning a state golf championship a year ago and is looking for redemption in his senior season. Last year at day one of the state tournament, Jahde led most of the way until the last few holes and Keith Thompson of Hamburg had a one stroke lead -2 to -1. Day two was canceled because of the weather and Jahde did not have the chance to catch up. He says he was not happy when he found out when they ended the tournament early
Jahde has channeled his energy into his game this spring. He says he has worked hard on his short game, he says his irons are not as good as they were last summer but they are getting there. So far this season, Jahde has only been beaten twice on the golf course but one of them was a rematch last month against Thompson who beat him 69-70. Jahde says the two golfers have always been competitive
Whenever CAM plays in a tournament, everyone knows Jahde is the man to beat. He’s got a big target on this back and he knows. It has taught him what pressure is all about and how to deal with it
The Boys sectional playoffs begin in two weeks on Wednesday, May 14 and Jahde says he will be ready
Jahde says he plans on playing college golf which is another goal of his but has not decided on the school yet. CAM will compete today in triangular at West Central Valley with Exira EHK.
