Charles Theodore Shroyer, born on June 12, 1979, passed away on February 25, 2025. He was a resident of Griswold, Iowa, and formerly of Guthrie Center, Iowa. Charles was the beloved husband of Jessica Shroyer, whom he married on May 28, 2011, in Griswold, Iowa.
Charles spent his early life in Guthrie Center, where he graduated high school in 1997. He helped farm with his father and took care of pigs, which fostered his love for animals. He pursued further education at DMACC in Ankeny, studying auto body and mechanics for two years. Charles dedicated 15 years of his career to McDermott and Sons Roofing and most recently worked as a mechanic at Sanbothe Firestone.
He was actively involved in 4-H and FFA and was a member of the Methodist Church in Guthrie Center before attending the Griswold United Methodist Church. Charles enjoyed working on cars and playing pool in bars, hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Boyd Shroyer and Barbara Jo Davis, a brother in infancy, brother-in-law Joe Tye, father-in-law Tim Tye, and mother-in-law Rhonda Tye.
He is survived by his wife, Jessica, and their sons Kyler of Atlantic, IA, Colton of Missouri, Jackson, and Kayden of Audubon, IA. He is also survived by his siblings Joanne and Judy, both residing in Colorado, and Jerry of Spirit Lake, IA, along with many other relatives and friends.
There will be a celebration of life memorial service on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Griswold United Methodist Church. Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is assisting the family during this time.
