Maria Torres Honored for Statewide Achievements in Public Health and Volunteer Service

(Pottawattamie Co) Maria Torres, Health Equity Coordinator with Pottawattamie County Public Health, was recognized at the Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors meeting this (Tuesday) morning.

Matt Wyant, Director of Planning and Development, informed the Supervisors that Maria Torres recently received two state-level awards: the 2025 Iowa Public Health Hero Award from the University of Iowa College of Public Health, and the Outstanding New Volunteer of the Year Award from the Alzheimer’s Association of Iowa.
