(Glenwood) The Glenwood boys emerged victorious on their home track on Tuesday, winning five events and securing the team championship with 137 points.
Andrew Lopez clinched gold in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.39. Chase Razor excelled in the High Jump, clearing a height of 5-10.00. The 4×200-meter relay team composed of Mulkins, Delashmutt, Schroeder, and Cruz took first place with a time of 1:31.08. In the 4×100 relay, the team of Mulkins, German, Schroeder, and Cruz also finished first, clocking in at 43.82. The Rams concluded the meet on a high note with a first-place finish in the 4×400 meter relay, thanks to the efforts of Cruz, DeLashmutt, Pitzen, and Stephens, who completed the race in 3:28.73. Bryce Keller secured second place in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:01.81, while Shane Pratt and Lincoln Skarnulis finished second in the Long Jump (21-01.25) and Shot Put (49-00.50), respectively.
Riverside claimed second place with a noteworthy performance, totaling 85 points. The Bulldogs won two events and placed second in four others. The team of B. Henderson, Fenner, Jaquez, and D. Henderson triumphed in the 4×800 relay with a time of 8:06.44, while Gordon, Rose, Knoke, and D. Henderson won the Distance Medley Relay in 3:43.54. Jaxon Gordon took second in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing in 15.63, and Dawson Henderson also finished second in the 400 hurdles with a time of 57.46. The Bulldogs secured a runner-up finish in the 800 Sprint Medley Relay, finishing in 1:36.74. Edi Hudnall earned second place in the 3200 meters with a time of 10:51.93.
Finishing third with 72 points, Shenandoah. Highlights included a victory for the 800 Sprint Medley relay team of Buttry, Wiley, Hernandez, and Graham, who clocked in at 1:35.46. The Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Scamman, Moutray, Swaink, and Hernandez also claimed first place with a time of 1:02.49. Carter Sells finished second in the High Jump, clearing 5-10.00.
Clarinda achieved fourth place with 71 points, driven by Kyle Wagoner’s standout performance, winning the 3200 meters in an impressive 9:50.04. He later returned to the track to win the 1600 meters in 4:30.38. Cooper Phillips finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 50.58. Clarinda also secured second place in the 4×400 meter relay, finishing in 3:30.19.
Atlantic took fifth place with 65 points, highlighted by Xavier Darrow, who won the discus with a throw of 151-00 and finished fourth in the Shot Put with a toss of 46-10.50. Ethan McNeal was second in the 100 meters, clocking in at 11.21, while Ty Houser finished fourth in 11.22. Shelton Mualia completed the 110-meter hurdles in 15.88 for a third-place finish. The Trojans also placed fifth in the 4×800 (8:40.54) and eighth in the 800 Sprint Medley (1:40.64). Jaxon Hepler was eighth in the 400 meters in 54.83 and finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.35.
Red Oak landed in sixth place with 64 points, marked by Cale Hall’s top finish in the 100 meters at 11.17. Brayden Sifford finished third in the same event with a time of 11.21. Red Oak also earned second in the Distance Medley with a time of 3:49.33, and Emmanuel Grass secured second in the 1600 meters, finishing in 4:47.52.
Additional highlights included Chris Ford from Sioux City, East, winning the Long Jump with a mark of 21-07.25, and Nathan Andersson from Thomas Jefferson finishing first in the 400 meters in 49.52. Parker Heisterkamp of St. Albert won the 800 meters in 2:01.34, while Tayden Hull of Underwood topped the 400-meter hurdles in 56.54. Tim Mikkelsen from Creston won the Shot Put with a throw of 51-09.00, and Brayden Schoon took second in the discus with a throw of 150-07.
