(Guthrie Center, IA) — The AC/GC Boys Track and Field team has tremendous depth and they use it in their relays. Head Coach Cody Matthewson has been juggling his line up looking for the right combinations and mostly that is because he has many options. One guy who has been a constant has been Eli Madsen. The Senior has been used in the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400 relays. He says that its been very competitive as a team to who will get spots
Audio PlayerHis best event seems to be the open 400 where he has posted a time of 50.33 which currently ranks 4th in Class 1A. Madsen says its pretty good considering he had to miss some time with an ankle injury
Audio PlayerMadsen will be at the blue oval on Saturday with his 4×100 teammates competing in the Drake Relays. Currently, the Chargers have the 4th fastest time in Class 1A at 43.51 behind Lisbon 43.14, New London 43.35 and South Hamilton 43.43.
Audio PlayerMadsen only takes one class for AC/GC right now and that is Calculus; he works in the morning for a landscaping business and does take some courses online. He does not plan on playing sports in college and is going to Iowa St. but has not decided on a major yet. Right now, he is enjoying running fast and making memories with his teammates
