(Des Moines) The Iowa House of Representatives has passed HF 1015, a bill that will prohibit counties from charging additional fees to ATV and UTV users operating on secondary roads.
Under current Iowa law, HF 2130—passed in 2022—ATVs and UTVs are permitted to operate on certain secondary roads across the state with just one statewide registration. While the bill prohibited cities from imposing additional fees, it did not extend the same restriction to counties, allowing them to levy their own operating or registration fees.
