(Underwood, IA) — On Friday night, Underwood hosted a Girls Track and Field meet — there were no team standings as teams were allowed multiple entries. Here are the highlights for each team:
Underwood: The host school won six events on their home track. Three relays won with the Sprint Medley (1:58.85) with Maddy Irwin, Emma Childers, Tieler Hull and Haley Stangl; the Shuttle Hurdle (1:11.45) with Lexi Gangwish, Mallorie Leaders, Childers and Irwin; and the 4×100 (53.11) with Irwin, Ainsley Roberts, Hull and Stangl. Ally Adams won the 400 with a season PR of 1:00.38 and was 2nd in the High Jump. Irwin was a 4 time winner with her three relays and the 100 Hurdles at 17.35. Trinity Bret won the 400 Hurdles with a season PR at 1:15.69. Stangl was 2nd in the 100 and the Eagles were 2nd in the 4×200 relay.
Riverside: Four wins for the Bulldogs with Kayden Schnack winning in the Long Jump at 14-07. The Distance Medley got a season PR at 4:25.62 with Veronica Schechinger, Elly Henderson, Sophia Fenner, and Bentley Rone. The 4×200 relay also got a season PR of 1:51.84 with Snack, Adaline Martens, Olivia Lund and Arabella Singleton. The 4×400 relay also finished first at 4:13.44 with Singleton, Rone, Fenner and Lund.
Also for Riverside, Madison Kelley was 2nd in the discus; Sophia Fenner 2nd in the shot put; Bentley Rone 2nd in the 200; Amaiya Less 3rd in the 800 with a season PR of 2:41.35; Sophia Taylor was 3rd in the shot put and 3rd in the discus with a season PR of 98-08; Lilli Reed was 3rd in the 400 Hurdles. The Bulldogs were also 2nd in the Sprint Medley and 4×100 relays.
AHSTW: The Lady Vikes did not run their full line-up but Bella Lamp won the 200 with a season PR at 28.26 seconds — she will compete in the Drake Relays on Saturday in the 400 Hurdles. They also were 2nd in the Distance Medley relay with a season PR of 1:51.43 with Adaline McIntosh, Bella Lamp, Ava Paulsen and Emery Brockhoff.
Tri Center: Isah Van Arsdol finished 3rd in the 1500 with a season PR of 5:19.97. Sophia Hazen was 3rd in the 200 and 4th in the 100.
Treynor: Five wins for the Cardinals as Delaney Matthews won both throws (36-08.50 in the shot put and 102-11 in the discus). Madeline Knispel was first in the 800 (2:32.16); Kennedy Hughey was first in the 100 (13.60) and they won the 4×800 relay at 10:29.26 (Jordyn Boswell, Madalyn Kerkmann, Cora White and Knispel)
Logan Magnolia: Allysen Johnsen was 1st in the 1500 (5:11.92) and Maria Kiger was first in the High Jump (4-10).
