(Atlantic, IA) — It was a beautiful night for track and field — finally — and the athletes took advantage of it with lower times and great performances in the CAM Classic held in Atlantic on Tuesday night. The highlight was the talented AHSTW Sophomore Bella Lamp who had 4 events and 4 wins including setting a school record in the open 400. Lamp outdueled CAM’s Ada Hansen to the finish line and posted a 59.37 to set a new school mark. Hansen ran 1:00.39 and finished 2nd with a new PR herself but settled for 2nd place.
Lamp also won the 400 Hurdles ahead of Hansen and PRed in that event too at 1:03.90 while Hansen was 2nd at 1:06.51. Lamp anchored the 4×800 relay to a season PR by almost 9 seconds at 10:09.51 with Ava Paulsen, Macey Goshorn, and Emery Brockhoff. She would cap off the night by running first in the 4×400 relay and the Lady Vikes were first at 4:16.51 with Kennedy Wyman, Macey Goshorn and Paulsen running anchor.
