(Atlantic) The Atlantic girls’ track team begins competition at the Lewis Central COED meet later today. The Trojans are coming off a busy week with meets at Sioux City on April 12, Creston on April 14, and Glenwood on April 17.
The Trojans ended the series with some impressive performances, including Lila Wiederstein’s 18-02.50, the third-best jump all-time in school history.
Audio PlayerThe 4×100 team of Van Aernam, Middents, Reed, and Wiederstein knocked 1.5 seconds off their time for a first-place finish in Class B at Sioux City in 51.12. The Trojans started last week with a good showing at Creston. Olivia Olson threw 99 feet and won the discus, and Lila Wiederstein won the 100 meters in 12.71. The Trojans followed up on Thursday at Glenwood. Reed won the 100-meter hurdles, and Wiederstein placed second in the 100 meters. The Trojans start the week at Lewis Central tonight.
