(Glenwood) On Thursday night, sixteen of the 21 2025 Glenwood Girls Ram Relays events were successfully held before the competition was halted due to threatening weather conditions.
Lila Weiderstein from Atlantic secured second place in the 100 meters with a time of 13.31, while Jerzee Knight of Clarinda took first place, finishing in 12.96. Jayci Reed excelled in the 100-meter hurdles, earning 10 points for the Trojans with her winning time 16.42. Stellah Van Aernam finished fourth in the 200 meters, clocking in at 28.08, whereas Abigail Andersen took sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:06.88, and Ally Adams from Underwood clinched victory in that event with a time of 1:00.77. In the 800 meters, Katrina Williams finished eighth (2:42.07), with Ashlyn Rau from Harlan winning the race in 2:28.14. Williams also performed well in the 3000 meters, securing third place at 12:09.66, while Rau again claimed first with 11:16.89.
In relays, the Trojans finished fourth in the 4×200-meter relay with a time of 1:50.67, while Glenwood won in 1:45.50. The Rams also triumphed in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, finishing in 1:10.49. Harlan took fourth in that event (1:14.78), and Atlantic came sixth (1:20.70).
The Rams continued their success by winning the 4×800-meter relay at 9:56.84. In the field events, Jordyn Matiyow of Lewis Central dominated, winning both the discus and shot put with impressive throws of 119-02 and 38-11.50, respectively. Olson from Atlantic placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 31-07.00. In the long jump, Isabella Buckholdt of Underwood took first place with a leap of 17-01.00, while Lila Weiderstein from Atlantic finished fourth with a jump of 16-04.25. Ally Ausdemore from Underwood won the high jump, clearing a height of 4-10.
The events that were not run included the 400-meter hurdles, 1500, 4×100-meter relay, 4×400-meter relay, and Distance Medley.
