(Guthrie Center, IA) — The weather halted the Charger Relays hosted by AC/GC — the girls completed 11 events while the boys got 10 events done before the meet had to stop for the safety of athletes and spectators. Here are the highlights of what was run:
CAM Girls: Courtney Follmann won the discus with a season PR throw of 118-08, Lily Barber was 2nd in the discus at 96-11. The Cougars were first in the shuttle hurdle relay with a season PR of 1:12.05 with Ada Hansen, Brookelynn Steffen, Bailey Lillard and Ruthie Rich. Rich also won the 100 meter dash at 13.24 seconds.
CAM Boys: Kayden Winther won the long jump at 19-09.25. Kason Calhoun was 3rd in the Long Jump at 18-06.75.
AC/GC Girls: The Chargers were 2nd in the Distance Medley relay at 4:46.97.
AC/GC Boys: Won the shuttle hurdle relay with Thomas Skram, Morgun Nolte, Tate Fever and Brexton Schneider at 1:04.42. Eli Madsen won the 400, improving his season best time by .09 seconds to 50.33 and now ranks in the top 30 in the state; unfortunately the Drake Relays only take the top 16 entries. Madsen was also 3rd in the 100. Joe Crawford was 2nd in the 100. Preston Kent was 2nd in the 3200 with a season PR of 10:45.32. Mike Fuller was 2nd in the shot put and 3rd in the discus. The Sprint Medley relay finished 2nd but got a season PR at 1:36.59 with Crawford, Kade Sorensen, Dean Vela, and Talon Noland.
Audubon Girls: Zoey Rasmussen was 4th in the discus and Jaelynn Petersen was 5th in the Long Jump.
Audubon Boys: The Wheelers finished 3rd in the Distance Medley relay but got a season PR of 3:55.89 with Mason Kasperbauer, Gabe Jensen, Brody Schultes and Aiden Kjergaard. They were also 2nd in the shuttle hurdle relay and Lane Meyer was 3rd in the shot put.
Exira EHK Boys: Austin Rasmussen finished 3rd in the 3200 at 11:02.46
Nodaway Valley Boys: Trent Warner won both throws — winning the shot put with a new season best of 53-04 and won the discus with a throw of 147-08.
Other girls highlights
Earlham: won the 4×200 and 4×800 relays
Panorama: Kylie Rochholtz won the 3000 and Gracie Reeker won the shot put
Martensdale St. Mary’s: Marin Janke won the long jump and MSM won the Distance Medley Relay
Lenox: 1st place in the Sprint Medley relay
West Central Valley: Tia Williams 1st in the 400 and Willow Ray first in the High Jump
Other boys highlights
Paton Churdan: Trevon Keely 1st in the 100 and 1st in the High Jump
Lenox: won the 4×800 relay
Earlham: Dawson Braet won the 3200 and they won the Sprint Medley and Distance Medley relays
