Harlan City Council Approves Park Lighting Project, Budget and Other Items

(Harlan) The Harlan City Council approved a recommendation from the Park and Recreation Committee to engage with MUSCO on the JJ Jensen Lighting Project.

In other action, the City Council approved the annual budget for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2026, following a public hearing in which there were no comments.

The Council approved a recommendation from the Personnel & Finance Committee to remove the last sentence from the second bullet on Page 14 of the City of Harlan Handbook that states, “If compensatory time is accrued, it cannot be used until the next seven day period”.

The Council approved the City of Harlan Real Estate Purchase Requirements and Bid Form and approved street closings for the Shelby County Wellness Alliance to paint crosswalk art at 6^th & Market and 7^th & Court on May 12^th.

And, the Mayor declared April 25^th as Arbor Day in the City of Harlan.
