(Forest City) The Forest City Community School District released its Class of 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame inductees. Atlantic Community Schools Educator and Head Boys’ Golf Coach Kendra (Hanson) Henningsen is one of the new inductees.
Kendra Henningsen is a 2004 Forest City High School graduate who held school records in basketball and golf. She is a two-time Iowa High School State Golf Tournament champion. Kendra took her talents to the next level and played golf at Iowa State University. Henningsen won the Iowa Women’s Amateur Golf Championship in 2008 and played one year on the women’s professional golf Symetra tour. In 2014, she was inducted into the Iowa Golf Coaches Association Players’ Hall of Fame.
Three athletes, Kendra (Hanson) Henningsen, Jeff Jerome, and Jon Nordaas, and two coaches, Larry Holstad and Paul Jensen, will be honored in the Athletics Hall of Fame. The hall was created in 2023 to recognize former athletes, coaches, teams, administrators, and patrons who have made significant contributions to the district’s athletics program.
The five recipients of the 2025 class will be recognized during Forest City’s Homecoming weekend in September. A public recognition ceremony will be held at the Boman Fine Arts Center on Thursday, September 25, at 5:30 p.m. Following their induction, they will participate in the Homecoming parade and be recognized during the football game’s halftime on Friday, September 26.
