Gray Fox Sighting Near Shenandoah, Iowa DNR Continues Study on Population

(Area) A gray fox was recently spotted near Shenandoah.

Grant Gelly, Conservation Officer with the Iowa DNR, appeared on the KSOM DNR Report Saturday morning and spoke about why this sighting is unique.

Gelly said it was pretty unusual when they were contacted a couple of weeks ago by someone who had several doorbell camera videos of a gray fox running through their back yard.

Gelly said they are going to set up some game cameras around the area to try to capture more sightings of the gray fox. They are not planning to trap the fox, in case it has a den nearby with pups.
