
(Area) — The Hawkeye Ten Conference has recognized this year’s Academic Team and Character Award recipients. The honors celebrate students who have demonstrated academic excellence, personal Integrity and a commitment to the pillars of character.
For academic team members, J. Molina of Atlantic was selected as was Reese Koch and Lauren Gaul of Harlan. The students had an ACT score of 29 or higher or head ISASP scores that met or exceeded advanced thresholds. Other students from the area that were honored on the academic team were Raenna Henke of Clarinda, Ava Adamson of Creston, Ethan Olsen and Dominik Garcia of Denison, Ilsa Kemling, Jackson Smithers and Anya Cook of Glenwood, Kendra Stork and Logan Rial of Kuemper; Ava Bussey, Jacob Kolhof-Sadler, Jackson Cox, Ella Bussey, brody Hilton, Alyssa Griffin of Lewis Central; Nicole Bond of Red Oak; Davin Holste and Carter Phipps of Shenandoah and Owen Marshall of St. Albert.
Each school in the Hawkeye Ten conference nominated one student to receive the character award recognizing students who embody the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fariness, caring and citizenship. The following students were selected: Morgan Botos of Atlantic, Kyle Wagoner of Clarinda, Anna Bolinger of Creston, Janet Castillo of Denison Schleswig, Madelyn Berglund of Glenwood, Lance Obrecht of Harlan, Logan Rial of Kuemper Catholic, Hannah Moore of Lewis Central, Brett Erickson of Red Oak, Drew Morelock of Shenandoah, and Emma Wigington of St. Albert
