(Guthrie Center, IA) — Guthrie County is trying to improve the mental health of residents — the Director of Public Health Jotham Arbor says they have a new social worker on staff and he says they have met with the sheriff’s office, hospitals, local schools and he found that there are a lot of needs. Arbor says they are finding the best areas of need for her
Arbor says they will start a marketing plan at the end of April to promote that a social worker is now available county wide. Arbor also says they are planning on adding a staff member to help with med management
Arbor also says they are renovating the public health offices and have a plan to add a new office in the Stuart area
Arbor made his comments during his regular report to the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.
