(Avoca, IA) — Riverside swept the AHSTW Co Ed Relays, the following is the highlights for each team:
Riverside Girls: The Bulldogs had just two first places, 4 2nd places but had 8 thirds. The Distance Medley team of Veronica Schechinger, Elly Henderson, Sophia Fenner and Bentley Rone won and Sophia Fenner won the shot put. 2nd places went to Kayden Schnack in the long jump and the 4×200, 4×400 and sprint medley relays. The following won 3rd places: Adaline Martens 100; Oliva Lund 200; Hailey Harvey 400; Amaiya Less 800; Iviana Schechinger 1500; Ayla Richardson 100 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles; Sophia Taylor Shot.
Riverside Boys: The Bulldogs won five relays: 4×100 with Cole Jeppesen, Jaxon Gordon, Aaron Smith and Maddox Knoke with a season best time 44.42; the 4×200 with Gordon, AC Roller, Jett Rose, Keegan Smith with a season best time of 1:37.32; the 4×400 with Brody Henderson, Owen Fenner, Cruz Jaquez and Eli Hudnall at 3:34.01; the 4×800 with Paxtyn Meek, Jaquez, Hudnall and Brody Henderson at 8:57.58; and the Distance Medley with jaack Branan, Paden Schechinger, Kort Rieken and Owen Fenner at 3:59.29. Jeppesen won the 100 at 11.60 and won the Long Jump at 20-03 and was 2nd in the 200. Dawson Henderson won the 800 with a season best 2:00.23 and won the 3200 at 10:30.35 and was 2nd in the 400 Hurdles. Brody Henderson was 2nd in the 800 with a season best time of 2:03.63. Paxtyn Meek was 3rd in the 1600; Peyton Amdor 3rd in the High Jump; Wyatt Bell 3rd in the Shot Put and Trent Spiering 3rd in the discus.
AHSTW Girls: Bella Lamp won all four of her events for the Lady Vikes: 400 with a season best 1:02.64; 400 Hurdles with a season best 1:06.59 and unofficially is 8th in the state in that event; anchored the 4×400 relay with Kennedy Wyman, Macey Goshorn, and Ava Paulsen to a PR at 4;14.74; and anchored the Sprint Medley to a win with Caitlyn dills, Loralei Wahling and Brooklyn Buck. Wahling had a big meet with three wins in the Sprint Med, 100 with a season best 13.60 and 200 with a season best 29.49. Ava Paulsen was 2nd in the 800; Kennedy Wyman 2nd in the 200 and 400; Brooke Lee 2nd in the 100.
AHSTW Boys: Luke Stenberg won the 200 at 23.75 and won the 400 at 50.70; the Senior finished 2nd in the 100. Jett Petersen won the Shot Put at 43-06 and was 2nd in the discus. Colin Harder was 3rd in the 800 and 2nd in the 1600.
Audubon Girls: The Wheelers finished 3rd in the 4×200 and 4×400 relays; Riley Miller was 5th in the 1500 and Marie Brand was 5th in the 200.
Audubon Boys: 2nd place finishes in the 4×200 with a season best time of 1:38.68 (Mason Kasperbauer, Brody Schultes, Adam Obrecht and Lane Meyer) and 4×400 with Obrecht, Schultes, Jorgen Nowatzke, and Aiden Kjergaard. Meyer was 2nd in the shot put, Gabe Jensen 3rd in the 100 Hurdles and Mason Steckler 4th in the 100 Hurdles.
Griswold Boys: Collin Bowers won the High Jump at 6 feet even. Holden Jensen won the 1600 at 4:57.64 and was 2nd in the 3200. Peyton Cook won the 110 Hurdles at 15.66 and was 3rd in the 400 Hurdles but got a season best time. RJ Dishong won the discus at 132-00. The Tigers got first place finishes in the Sprint Medley and Shuttle Hurdle Relays — Sprint team of Bode Wyman, Auden Wilson, Peyton Cook, Cody Dorscher at 1:38.74 and Shuttle team of Wyatt Silk, Wyman, Cook and Nollan Smith with a season best of 1:02.72 Silk had a season best time of 16.84 in the 100 Hurdles and finished 2nd. Auden Wilson was 3rd in the 400 and the Tigers were 2nd in the D Med.
Southwest Valley Girls: Mackenzie Richards was 2nd in the shot put
Southwest Valley Boys: Wyatt Mendenhall won the 4090 Hurdles with a new season best time of 57.34. Brody Crozier was 2nd in the Long Jump and 3rd in the 100. Gavin Wetzel was 2nd in the High Jump. The Timberwolves were 2nd in the 4×100 but had a season best of 45.81.
Exira EHK Boys: Austin Rasmussen was 3rd in the 3200.
