(Harlan, IA) — Treynor outdueled Lewis Central at the Koos Relays in Harlan on Thursday night. Atlantic would finish in 3rd place but Jayci Reed set a new season high in the 100 hurdles, leapfrogging runners in the 100 Hurdles standings. Reed went from 16.68 and a tie for 62nd in the state to 15.81 seconds and 25th place in the state with other results from Thursday night to be posted. That puts Reed in position to make the field at the Drake Relays with 32 entries taken in the 100 Hurdles. Reed finished 2nd in the race to Rylee Hemmingsen of Treynor who ran 15.28.
The only win for the Trojans was Lila Wiederstein in the Long Jump at 15-11 and she finished 4th in the 100 Hurdles. Wiederstein was also part of the Sprint Medley relay team that finished 2nd and a new season best time of 2:00.61 with Stellah Van Aernam, Jayci Reed, and Allison Middents, Van aernam was 2nd in the 100 with a new season best 12.86. Middents was 2nd in the 200 with a season best time of 27.34.
Also for Atlantic, Olivia Olson was 3rd in the discus, Morgan Botos 3rd in the 400 Hurdles, Katrina Williams 4th in the 800, Faith Larsen 4th in the shot put.
For Harlan, there was a first place finish in the 4×800 and 4×400 relays. The 4×800 team of Aspen Bieker, Alli Andersen, Sadi Alberti, and Brylee Schechinger had a time of 10:41.70. The 4×400 got a season best time of 4:19.03 beating their previous by almost 4 seconds with Bieker, Lily Schechinger, Abby Broeckelman, and Abree Wegner. Harlan was also 2nd in the Shuttle Hurdle and Distance Medley relays.
Lindsey Sonderman finished 2nd to Lili Denton of St. Albert in the 1500. Ashlyn Rau was 2nd in the 800 and 3rd in the 3000. Aubree Wegner was 2nd in the High Jump. Paige Sonderman was 4th in the 400.
Other winners included Treynor winning 4 relays (4×100, 4×200, Distance Medley, Shuttle Hurdle). Delayna Reese of Lewis Central won the 800 and 3000. Brooke Nelson of LC won the 100, 200 and 400 and Olivia Ausdemore won the High Jump. St. Albert took first in the Sprint Medley relay.
