(Atlantic and Creston, IA) — Two duals in two different golf courses but the same result in both locations — a win for the Trojans. The Atlantic girls opened their season with a victory while the Boys dominated Creston on their home course.
For the girls, the difference came down to the #4 golfer. Atlantic won 210 to 215 at Nishna Hills Golf Club. Neveah Fewson beat the Creston #4 Nora Barton 59 to 66. Makenna Schroeder was medalist with a 45. Other scores for the Trojans: Rylee Bengel, 52; Emma Rose 54; and Nissa Molgaard 69.
Creston was led the runner up Averi Culbertson with a 45. Also for the Panthers: Ricci Johnston 50; and Kylei Metheny 54.
On the boys side, it was a one sided affair as every Atlantic golfer shot better than the Creston #1 player. The Trojans won 159 to 196. Gage Gross went from last on the Atlantic scoring list to first, winning medalist honors a 36. Hudson McLaren was 2nd with a 39. Tristan Hayes shot a 40; Trevan Hansen 44; Brady Wood 44; and Sam Brosam 45.
Garrett Troutwine led Creston with a 46; Chase Downing 48; Branden Spencer 50; Jake Hoyt 52; Ethan Holiday 55; Tristan Evans 56.
