(Exira) The City of Exira was awarded $650,000 Community Development Block Grant funds from the Iowa Economic Development Authority Downtown Revitalization fund.
Meg Andersen, Exira City Clerk, said this is a cost-share grant between cities and the Iowa Economic Development Authority to revitalize or reface facades of downtown buildings.
Audio PlayerAndersen said there will be about a six month environmental and historical review process that has already started and they are hoping construction will start late this year and continue through 2026.

Combined with their resurfacing project and the installation of new sidewalks, they are excited about all the new developments on the horizon.
