Harlan Boys Golf Starts Season With Over Monarchs

(Harlan, IA) — Its a win to start the season for the Harlan Boys Golf Team — on Tuesday the Cyclones beat Denison Schleswig 191 to 213. Junior Jonas Reynolds led the way with a 41 — that is a couple of strokes below his average last year of 43.59. He was the number two golfer last year behind then Senior Brayden Ernst who has graduated. Now as the #1, Head Coach Chad Swanson says Reynolds has actually grown a lot in the last 18 months which has made him stronger

Junior Owen Neve shot a 48 on Tuesday and he is #2 in the line-up — Swanson says he can shoot even better because he has a passion for the game

Overall, the key for success for Harlan will be the golfers behind Reynolds and Neve. They have some varsity experience like Sophomore Kiron Leinen, Juniors Kamden Kimmen and Gabe Arkfeld and Seniors Brock Loudy and Hayden Soma but somebody must emerge out of the pack says Swanson
