(Pottawattamie Co) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors has officially proclaimed April 2025 as Child Abuse Prevention Month, underscoring the county’s commitment to supporting children and families through early intervention, community support, and increased awareness of the long-term effects of childhood trauma.
In a proclamation approved by the board, local leaders emphasized the critical importance of early experiences in a child’s life, noting that those experiences—positive or negative—can shape the trajectory of a person’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Supervisors Chair Scott Belt read the proclamation, which in part states:
