(Fremont Co.) One person was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Fremont County this (Tuesday) morning.
The accident happened at approximately 11:00 a.m. The Iowa State Patrol says 79 year old Joyce Kruse, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2001 Chrysler westbound on Highway 2 and failed to yield to southbound traffic. Kruse was struck by a1998 Peterbilt semi, driven by Jeffrey Dean Hall of Westboro, Missouri, who was southbound on Highway 59.
The Chrysler came to rest in the southwest ditch. The semi came to a stop on the southbound shoulder.
Joyce Kruse was pronounced deceased on scene.
Hall was not injured.
