(Oakland, IA) — Riverside Boys and Girls Golf opens their season today. There is a lot of promise for the Bulldog golfers this spring — Head Coach Mitch Rice has a young team on the girls side with just one senior but the boys have strong numbers and could make a push towards the state tournament.
Audio PlayerGarrett Hough and Mason McCready have both graduation for Riverside but back are Sophomores Peyton Amdor, James McCready, Nathan Smith, Austin Zimmerman and Bennett Hough along with two Seniors Taven Moore and AC Roller. Moore and Amdor will probably fight for the #1 spot but the others are not far behind. Rice says its hard to keep the guys off the course

Audio PlayerAkia Tumey is the only senior on the Bulldogs — she and Junior Jadyn Beckman are the candidates for the #3 and #4 spots. Freshmen Mckenna Dorr and Ashley Kelley are dual sporting with track but Rice is expecting all six to compete in the majority of the matches. Both Riverside boys and girls open their season today hosting IKM Manning.
