(Winterset, IA) — ADM wins the Husky Invite on Friday night. Treynor has two first place finishes with Brady Wallace winning the 110 Hurdles with a time of 14.10 seconds. That doesn’t come close to his best time of 13.93 which ranks 2nd in the state behind Quinton Alexander of Prairie at 13.91. Wallace has already achieved the blue oval standard to qualify for the Drake Relays.
In the 100 meter dash, Jeff Sornson finished a disappointing 4th place at 11.31 seconds. He failed to improve on his best time of 11.17 which currently ranks tied for 32nd in the state. Cauy Konz of Treynor beat his teammate finishing 2nd place at 11.11 seconds which leapfrogs Sornson into 27th place in the state. Wallace actually has a faster time than both of them at 11.06 and that currently ranks 18th.
With three runners ranking in the top 32, Treynor’s 4×100 is stacked and they won at Winterset with a time of 42.78 which is their fastest time of the spring and the Cardinals currently rank third in the state behind Western Dubuque (42.32) and Johnston (42.39). Keatlyn Dirks joined Sornson, Konz and Wallace the relay on Friday.
Creston had winners in both throwing events — Tom Mikkelsen won the shot put at 51-04.5 and Brayden Schoon won the discus at 155-08. Schoon was 2nd in the shot and Mikkelsen was 5th in the discus.
