(Griswold, IA) — Griswold hosted a competitive meet on Thursday night with AC/GC taking the Boys team title just ahead of Griswold while Tri Center won the girls competition. Luke Sternberg was a highlight for AHSTW with three wins in three events. The AC/GC boys won three relays. For the girls, Tri Center had 5 wins — Jozie Payne and kaitlin Kozeal were each double winners.

Griswold Girls: Carsyn Adams won the 400 meters with a time of 1:03.87 and she finished 3rd in the 400 Hurdles and 4th in the 100 Hurdles. Her sister Addison Adams was 2nd in the 400.
Griswold Boys: Three first place finishes for the Tigers — the Distance Medley team of Bode Wyman, Nollan Smith, Conner Bowers and Cody Dorscher had a time of 3:55.15; Bowers won the high jump at 6’03”; and Holden Jensen won the 1 mile at 4:54.51, Jensen was also 3rd i nthe 2 mile. Griswold was 2nd in the Sprint Medley; RJ Dishong 2nd in the discus; Auden Wilson 3rd in the 400; and Peyton Cook 3rd in the 100 Hurdles and 4th in the 100.
AC/GC Girls: Ava Campbell won the 1 mile with a time of 5:00.31 and finished 2nd in the 800.
AC/GC Boys: Four total wins for the Chargers including three relays which are the team’s strength. Winners included the Sprint Medley (Joe Crawford, Brexton Schneider, Kade Sorensen, and Dean Vela) at 1:38.09; Shuttle Hurdle (Tate Fever, Jathan South, Morgun Nolte, Brexton Schneider) at 1:02.72 and the 4×100 (Joe Crawford, Brexton Schneider, Luke Brincks, Kade Sorensen) at 44.79. Mike Fuller won the discus with a throw of 149-02; he was also 3rd in the shot. Other top performances for AC/GC included Joe Crawford 2nd in the 100, Tate Fever 2nd in the 400 Hurdles, 2nd in the 4×400 relay and Dean Vela 3rd in the 200.
Riverside Girls: Sophia Fenner won the shot put at 37-04.25. Sophia Taylor was 3rd in the shot put. The Bulldogs were 2nd in the 4×800 and Distanced Medley relays.
AHSTW Boys: Luke Sternberg could not be caught on Thursday night, entering in three events and winning them all — the 100 (11.34), 200 (22.85) and 400 (50.00). The Vikings also won the 4×800 relay with Collin Harder, Caden Geraghty, Jackson Jensen, and Ty Nelson with a time of 9:02.52. Harder was also 2nd in the 1600 and 3rd in the 800. Jett Peterson was 2nd in the shot put and 5th in the discus.
Tri Center Girls: Five wins for the Trojans including two relays — Sprint Medley (Kaitlin Kozeal, Lucy Elsener, Jozie Payne, Tess Casey) at 1:54.14 and 4×800 (Isah VanArsdo, Reese Dittner, Kara Wingert, Sophia Hazen) at 10:48.15. Jozie Payne won the long jump at 15-09; Kaitlin Kozeal won the 100 meter dash with a run of 13.56 seconds and Quincey Schneckloth won the 400 Hurdles at 1:08.62. Second place finishes went to Avilyn Kilipack in the High Jump, the Suttle Hurdle Relay, the 4×200 , the 4×400 and the 4×100. Caitlin Greiner was 3rd in the 400 and 4th in the shot put.
Tri Center Boys: The Trojans won the 4×400 relay with Carter Kunze, Lincoln Thomas, Brennan Boden and AJ Peters at 3:37.52. Kunze also won the Long Jump at 20-02 and was 2nd in the 200 and 400. Haven Weers was 2nd in the 3200 and 3rd in the 1600.
Southwest Valley Boys: Brody Crozier was 2nd in the Long Junp and 3rd in the 100. Gavin Wetzel was T3rd in the High Jump. The Timberwolves were 2nd in the shuttle hurdle and 4×100 relays.
Southwest Valley Girls: Mackenzie Richards finished 2nd in the shot put.
Other highlights for the girls: Fremont Mills won 5 events (Hayleigh Mattox in the discus, Carlie Chambers in the High Jump, Lana Alley in the 100 Hurdles and the Shuttle Hurdle and 4×200 relays).Grace Steinmetz of Heartland Christian won the 3000. Lilli Denton of St. Albert won the 800 and the Saintes won the 4×100, 4×400 and Distance Medley relays.
Other highlights for the boys: Parker Heisterkamp was a double winner for St. Albert in the 3200 and 800 and Jayden Beckman won the shot put. Gabe Funk of Lenox won the 400 Hurdles and East Mills won the 4×200 relay.
