(Denison, IA) — Riverside had a solid 2nd place finish at the Monarch Relays on Thursday night, only 8 and a half points behind Lewis Central. Harlan finished in 4th place out of 8 teams — Atlantic sent its JV Boys to Denison to compete.
Riverside dominated the relays with four first place finishes:
Distance Medley (Jett Rose, Aaron Smith, Maddox Knoke, Dawson Henderson) 3:38.94
Sprint Medley (Jaxon Gordon, Aaron Smith, Cole Jeppesen, Maddox Knoke) 1:36.58
4×400 (Cole Jeppesen, Brody Henderson, Maddox Knoke, Dawson Henderson) 3:29.53
4×800 (Brody Henderson, Owen Fenner, Cruz Jaquez, Dawson Henderson) 8:06.95
Jeppesen also won the 100 (11:37); Brody Henderson won the 400 (53:21); and Dawson Henderson won the 800 (2:02.99). Owen Fenner finished 2nd in the 400 and 3rd in the 1600. Jaxon Gordon was 3rd in the 110 Hurdles.
For Harlan, Jeffrey Gross had the only victory, finishing first in the 3200 (10:26.48) and was also 4th in the 1600. Third place finishes went to Hagen Sorensen in the 100, Ayden Redmon in the 200, Erik Heslink in the 3200, Jozef Reisz in the discus and Foxx Argotsinger in the 400 Hurdles and High Jump.
